A female resident had to wait over an hour to have her bell answered when her trach tubing wasnt working correctly.Instead of fixing the problem Gurwin moved her to a more intensive floor.5 stars is fake and probably payed for.more like 0 stars.Also the supervisor Julieann is rude,has bad energy,intentionally criticized,and embarassed staff infront of other staff members making sure to be loud enough for residents to hear her.The other staff had to make a joke out of the situation when he saw staff was visibly uncomfortable.Staff matters and staff feedback should be spoken about privately and not in the residents home area or infront of other staff.Its an awful organization with nursing supervisor JulieAnn that doesnt know how to treat staff respectfully,respect resident spaces or even bother to call staff by their correct name.racial biases and ableism is evident here.and notice they only respond to the positive reviews.go elsewhere if you want good treatment

I would like to share my wonderful experience at the Gurwin Center. I had both of my knees replaced in February of 2018. I was transferred from the hospital to the Gurwin Center in the evening. I was met with very attentive staff and a meal was ordered for me immediately. The staff made sure I was comfortable and that I had everything I needed. The recovery for bilateral knee replacement is a painful and difficult. The rehabilitation staff was incredibly supportive, patient and well versed in how to enhance my recovery! I could not have done without their constant encouragement! The nursing staff on 2 South was wonderful! My knees needed to be iced with a special apparatus every 6 hours. The nursing staff made sure I had the ice treatments on time which helped enormously with the reduction of pain and a better recovery. The nursing staff work very hard and no matter how busy they were my needs were met. I really appreciated everything they did for me. My entire experience at the Gurwin Center was perfect for my recovery. I believe that everything starts with great leadership. The kind of nurturing I received from the staff at the Gurwin Center comes from great leadership of Administration, Nursing and Rehabilitation Department leaders.
