Our experience has been very good. The staff are professional and caring. Two years ago my brother fully recovered during a relative short stay rehab and had two more quality years at home. This time he needs 24/7 supervision and has made the transition quite peacefully to long term care.

Exponentially disgusted and disappointed in the care that has been given to my mother since she arrived. My mother has been at Wingate for a few weeks now and we have yet to have an orientation meeting. My mother has open wounds in her bottom because she was left in a soiled diaper for five hours. She was transferred to Mid Hudson Regional Hospital because she was extremely dehydrated and has had 2 UTIs within a week. The PA told us that Wingate has the ability to medicate patients intravenously so where is the disconnect? My mother had a stroke and her entire left side is completely flaccid yet she managed to fall out of her bed one night. The worst part is that Wingate waited an entire hour to contact my sister to notify her of the fall. I attempted to reach the nurse on the 2nd floor at least 3 times only to be put on hold and disconnected each time. I finally jumped in my car and drove there myself which seemed to be the only way to get any information about my mothers post fall status. My sister and I have seen how quickly things happen on a day to day basis at this facility which lends itself to the question, How long was my mother on the floor before the staff even realized she had fallen? Unfortunately, some of the staff members need a little lesson in compassion because the elderly should be treated with respect. It is as if our cries fall on deaf ears. We have spoken to the Director of Nursing but to no avail. I am unequivocally certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that if it were their mother OR the administrators mother in this predicament the treatment would be different. There are some staff members that have treated my mother with kindness and compassion. Unfortunately those experiences hve been few and far between. Definitely considering some alternatives because OUR MOTHERS CARE MATTERS!

My daughter has witness several terrible things that goes on at this place. She has tried many many times to talk with the charge nurse, aid, doctor social worker, about her father and gets no where. My daughter lives upstate and has cancer, three children. Sometimes it's hard for her to get to see her father. In my opinion the staff need to be talked to. I know that this kind of work can be very difficult. But,if you can't or don't want to do your work YOUR ARE WORKING AT THE WRONG PLACE....Also my daughter has a notebook that she writes in and always carries with her. I would not recommend this place at all......

Disgusted with the care here. They treated an emergency situation with such lack of concern and the day to day functions are despicable.
