In September it will be a year my father has been in the memory section of the Atria. It's been a learning experience for me. But I must say the staff has been wonderful and caring. Lucy and her staff Leda, Marcia, Namedia, Mary, Earl the pearl, and all of them that have touched his life....I love them. There jobs are exhausting yet they do it with a smile. I know my dad is safe, bathed, well fed and surrounded by friendly faces. Thank you!To the powers that be, I would love to see the entertainment provided at assisted and independent living brought up to memory more often.

My mother is in the memory care unit at Atria. I have read through some of the reviews, which I find to be accurate. The initial attention is incredible. Its as if there is this team of people who are going to provide personalized care for your loved one. Especially in the beginning, I would regularly get updates as to how she was doing, activities, how she ate, etc. However, that does die down over time and, even though I actively visit and take her out, any input I received is now at my prompting. There are number of activities listed on the calendar to attend throughout the day at Atria, however my mother does not have access to many of them due to being on the life guidance floor. She enjoys the food and the staff is always kind and attentive when I am there. For the cost of living at Atria, there are a couple of things that are not included which I find odd that I do not think would cost much and only add to the quality of life. I have to state clearly that the main, if not only, reason my mother is still at Atria is because of the director of her floor, LUCY. Lucy has continued to check in with me about my mother, when visitors come, and her general mood/functioning. Lucy is a priceless addition to life guidance. Knowing some one cares so much that she will contact me without prompting or prodding is incredible and allows me to sleep at night knowing my mother is safe and cared for. She will also talk to my mother and bring her with her throughout the building so she can get out a bit and socialize more. Lucys 2 days off may be rest for her but its the only time of the week I feel as though I have lost a great resource and a connection to my mom when Im not there.

I live at The Atria Woodlands Assisted Living Facility in Ardsley NY and have been here several years. I cant say enough good things about it. I did an extensive search, with my family, of the places like this in the Westchester area, and am happy with the decision.I am younger than most people here, in my mid 60s, with needs of my own. Older people are well taken care of, but as for me, I really like to MOVE. Im delighted to enjoy exercise like Boxing, WII Bowling, and some balance bars that feel like Im dancing. I thank God every day for a place like this and hope that other people will be happy in their own search for a new home.

What a wonderful community! During my tour I couldn't help but notice the attention to detail on all levels. The staff was friendly and sharp. The environment well appointed and clean. Walked away feeling very comfortable with their options.
