I have no idea where to start with this court house or police department.. I apologize about the long read but I sat and thought about posting the situation for a couple of day before deciding it needed to be approached.I was pulled over by Amateur officer Rojo for 'traveling in the turning lane'. Once pulled over I was told I was in the wrong and he was right, I continued to disagree and inform him that he had his own opinion about the situation as did I. First I recieved a warning but out of curiosity I asked if signing the warning would mean I agreed with him stating I was driving in the median. After the question I was asked to step out of the vehicle and placed in handcuffs (I was not read the Miranda Warning). I was told I was going to jail for refusing to sign and my company vehicle would be impounded, basically forcing me to sign but now the warning has been scratched and turned into a citation. I obviously signed to avoid any issues with my position at work and was let on my way.I had my court hearing April 1st of 2019 and was confident I would not be deemed guilty. The judge proceeded to ask why I was fighting such a citation because 'it's just a $100 dollars'. I informed him that my job holds a strict policy for driving history and that being deemed guilty for this citation could result in me losing my job. Well Amateur officer Rojo was present for the trail and we proceeded with the hearing. The officer then stated his perspective on the situation and declared I had traveled 2 to 3 blocks in the travel lane. I sat quietly until he was finished (thinking I would get to express my prospective following) and I did not get to voice my side of the story. All I was asked was if I had any questions, I stated no (still thinking maybe I just have to wait and I'll get my turn later). The judge asked if there was any evidence for this citation and officer Rojo had a video to share. I was quickly relieved due to the fact I truly did not travel in the turning lane more than maybe 300 ft. which is the distance recommended to inform others you are turning while applying the turning signal. Well the video was just the body cam of the officer post being pulled over, all it proves was I was not happy about being pulled over and being argumentative. NO EVIDENCE PROVING THE OFFICER WAS RIGHT NOR THAT I WAS TRAVELING 2 TO 3 BLOCKS IN THE MEDIAN!!! Yet the judge still deemed me guilty even WITHOUT PROOF. Obviously it's their word over ours and it's ok if others lose their job as long as the judge gets to keep his and sit behind his little pedistool. OBVIOUSLY the judge is not in the right position to make these sort of decisions if he can't even follow The United States, innocent until proven guilty. The 14th Amendment to the U.S Constitution guarantees to every person, aliens included, equal protection under the law. The fact I was let go due to the judge's incompetent decision shows how unprofessional this court house and police department run themselves. Avoid the city of jal at all cost because the officers are just fishing, hoping to get away with anything!
