After coping at home with my wife''s advancing dementia/Alzheimer disease, we were forced to seek expert care. I researched many care facilities and found them 'wanting' for dementia care. I was impressed with Northridge for the personalized care they demonstrated, the acoustics with low, 8 foot ceilings, quietness (unlike some seemingly 'mausoleums' I visited).Ginger was admitted to Northridge in June 2019, and passed away in January 2020. All during this challenging 7 months, I was impressed with the compassionate and caring nurses, caregivers, staff, and administrator Lisa Quintana, who set these high standards of care.Ginger was failing during the weeks before her final demise. I can't thank enough for the compassion Ginger experienced during this trying time from the nurses, caregivers, and Hospice de la Luz nurses. Also Special thanks to all for keeping me emotionally glued together! Finally, serving only dementia/Alzheimer's residents is what Northridge does, and from my view, does it best.

My father suffered from Diabetes, heart issues and dementia. Northridge was recommended to me and the staff there were excellent to work with. We were able to accelerate Dad's move in and almost immediately we saw improvements in his day to day life. I live 500 miles away in Phoenix, and the staff did an amazing job of keeping me updated as my Dad's health diminished. Anytime I visited my Dad, I always was so welcomed by the sympathetic staff and they helped me to understand the process until the end. Watching the staff work you really can see that while very professional, they really are passionate about the care they give and my Dad was very happy there. So with such a great review, why only 3 stars? After my dad passed away, I was obviously overwhelmed with all of the things you must do in that situation, I had to deal with my Mom who also has health issues and just lost her husband of 57 years. Had to relocate her to be close to us in AZ, had to sell their house, keep up with a very demanding job and a family of my own. I told the folks at Northridge to donate my fathers belongings at the rest home (TV, Dresser etc) to someone who could use them. Which they acknowledged they did. I called them today to find out what I had not received a final statement and I had anticipated (based on what they told me the last time I was there) a small credit (about 3K) since my Dad passed in the middle of the month. I was told there was not refund because there were still some old clothes in his closet, so the billed me for the whole month! Pretty SAD in my opinion, that after all of the goodness I experience while my Dad was living, to fall victim to a cold and heartless policy. Very below par! Spent a TON of money at this place to care for my Dad and feel that my Mom was robbed a bit over some old clothes and a toothbrush! Despite how things ended here for me, I still would 100% recommend this facility if you have loved ones suffering from memory health issues. Just make sure to vacate as quickly as possible when the time comes so you don't get penalized!

My sister has Huntington's disease and was living in a minimal-care assisted living center. She was falling quite a bit, and became uncommunicative and aggressive. I assumed it was the progressive decline of the disease. She moved into North Ridge and we gave her a week to settle into her new routine. My first visit with her was remarkable. She was responsive and engaged when I spoke to her. She spoke more words than I remember her speaking in a few years. She told me that she cant do the arts and crafts projects but she likes watching. I feel like I have my sister back again! Thank you North Ridge!
