This place use to be amazing but unfortunately has really been going down hill lately. The receptionist thats there during the day with the short black hair is extremely rude and if you ask her anything she acts likes it a huge inconvenience. She definitely shouldnt be the person that greets you the minute you walk in the door .The women with the blonde hair in billing is also extremely rude and also acts like its a big inconvenience to her if I have a billing question .There activities have also been nonexistent. They use to do so many activities with the seniors and the staff that did the activities used to be very bubbly and happy and energetic. I dont see any of that anymore. A lot of the Senior Residence look like they havent showered for weeks and are wearing dirty stained clothing. Its really a shame a place that was so great has turned into this. I am looking to move my mother out of this place and I dont recommend it !

The Chelsea at Bald Eagle is definitely not the worst facility ever, but there are many major flaws that would require little to no effort from administration to address. Not going to go into too many details, but I was employed there for over six months and of all of my work experiences, this was definitely the worst. The facility's staffing is pretty... terrible. I've never seen worse staffing. I lost count at how many times I was forced to stay overtime without any notice because the next shift was M.I.A. A majority of the workers call out sick left and right, many last minute. Many of the workers lack compassion and patience... and honestly a lot of them don't belong in healthcare. I know a lot of this review has to do with the treatment of employees, but considering this is a senior assisted living facility, the quality of their employees and their overall performance directly results in the quality of care these residents are given. I would never leave any of my personal family members there, but to be honest long term care facilities in general are super money hungry and usually try to keep staffing as minimal as possible, wages as low as possible, and resident population as high as possible. The family members seem to be satisfied, but most of the issues occurred overnight, when the family members obviously aren't there. During the day, the facility is flooded with aides and nurses. Overnight shift obviously has less workers, because there's less work to do, but it was to the point where during overnight there was maybe three aides and one person to pass meds. In the entire facility. Considering the viral outbreak was not handled very well, it lasted pretty long, many people got sick, and the staffing was tragic. Nobody wanted to work. Again with the staffing already being bad, it was even worse during the outbreak, which makes absolutely no sense because it should've been the polar opposite. There should not be a couple of people responsible for the entire facility. Especially not during a viral outbreak when residents have GI issues; very problematic and it's a risk to both the residents and the employees. Picture three or four aides, running around the entire facility, trying to contain and clean all of the people who had active GI viruses, all while trying to maintain the regular diaper changes and regular schedule... Not to mention the fact that the workload was tripled with absolutely no wage adjustment. There was a shift, during their viral outbreak, where the person scheduled to pass medications called out sick last minute. Somebody came in to do the essential, scheduled medications, but I vividly remember several people complaining of pain that day, and all I could do was... offer emotional support... So essentially there were residents that had pain killer prescriptions, who could not get their medication... Not even a Tylenol. Residents have a right to access their medications and they are paying a crazy amount of money to be in this facility. They should be treated like gold, not because of how much money they're putting in, but simply because they're living humans, most of which are in the end stages of life. Administration has some serious work to do in terms of the way they treat their employees. Wages are hilarious, there are cashiers that make more than the CHHAs there that have a certification in healthcare and do direct care with these residents. The facility is aesthetically pleasing and modernly renovated, but aside from that, they seem to lack a philosophy.
