Sunrise of Jackson

It is with our sincerest apologies, that we didn't write this sooner. Dad spent 3 1/2 years at Sunrise of Jackson suffering from dementia, and passed in January 2018. We felt so comforted to know he was in such good care. Mom's health then took a sudden turn having had several strokes and required professional care. There was no question in our minds that we would contact Sunrise again. She unfortunately passed away within a week of residing at Sunrise in January 2019. We can't express enough how hard the team worked to comfort mom and ourselves through such a hard time...once again! The entire team is absolutely amazing! Mom's condition was quite severe when she arrived, and each day the staff was doing everything that they could to help. We want to thank Amy, Gabby, Dru-Claire, and Melissa (REM) for all their hard work before mom even arrived. That being said, our thanks goes out to everyone in REM for taking care of her and our family. There are many special people in this community that will remain in our hearts, and we truly hope they know who they are. Love, the St. Laurent family

Our mom moved into Sunrise of Jackson in the Reminiscence community after our dad passed away over five years ago. Although she had been diagnosed with Alzheimers years before and couldn't live on her own, the loving care and stimulation she received at Sunrise actually improved her condition. She became an active member of the community, participating in games, sing-alongs and crafts.As a family, we enjoyed barbecues and special events. On many occasions we were able to reserve a private dining room to celebrate birthdays and holidays. We visited several times a week, and got to know the staff very well. We later moved our aunt to Sunrise as well, and recommended it to two other families who later moved in.In large part, our happiness with mom's care and our family's well being was to due to the care of Melissa Kinsella and her staff. Melissa was always ready to address any concerns that arose as mom's needs changed, with reassurance that set our minds at ease. Annie Hudak, the Life Enrichment Manager, not only enriched mom's life, but she became someone we came to love as a friend and support. Kadie Sesay was mom's Care Manager for many years of her time in REM and reassured us that she was safe and well cared for. Wilma Lazok took care of mom with love, as did Mabel Bondi, calling to let us know if mom needed anything, caring for her if she got sick. Gail Lester was also there to address concerns.After mom's last hospitalization, we wanted her to return to Sunrise, her home and ours for the last several years. This remarkable team treated the end of her life with dignity and respect, and embraced our family during this difficult time. We think of them often and stay in touch, and would recommend Sunrise of Jackson wholeheartedly to any family looking for a home for a loved one.

My sister and I just returned from a tour of Sunrise of Jackson. Well, what can I say. We entered and my name was on a sign to welcome me. Wow. The place is wonderful, a place you would want to see your elderly parents living in if the need arises and for my family, that time has come with a dad with progressive dementia and a mom who needs help for herself and my dad. What a staff. Dino is the Director of Sales, took us all around, answered every question and felt our anguish about this whole situation with our parents. He understood. Everyone we saw on staff friendly saying hello taking time to talk with us. The residents happy and being attended to. The assisted living apartments, beautiful. So clean and decorated so lovely. My sister and I were so impressed that we thought to ourselves and said it out loud that we would live there. And to top off the visit, Dino, a very understanding and caring person, hands us a hot apple pie. I left there feeling that this could be home for my parents and are hoping that this can be the place for them with Dino's help. Thank you to everyone there from the bottom of my heart. You all deserve 5 stars!
