A dump. Smeally , outdated with carpet on the floor full of stains. Expensive . Everything is extra. No senior living facility allows pets. This one does. ????

The staff at Desert Springs is phenomenal! They are so very attentive and always personable. Lunch always looks great, and the salon is adorable. They regularly have fun activities and outings for the residents to enjoy. You cannot beat all of the arrangements for their price point!

If there was a way to rate with 'zero' stars, that is what I would give this place. If you talk to the residents here, most of them have complaints too. The food is served cold. Every resident gets a call button on a lanyard to wear around their neck, so they can press it in the event of an emergency. This is a joke. Press the emergency call button and wait 45 minutes for someone to respond, then when they respond and ask what you need it takes another 30 minutes to get medicine. This is not a one time incident. It happens all to frequently. You pay a lot of extra money for medicine delivery, only to find out they forget to give some meds and meds are not delivered at the appropriate time. There are some staff members who are genuinely caring individuals and I praise those individuals for their compassion. I had to put my mom in this facility, because I was her caregiver and had 3 heart attacks and 2 heart surgeries and I am no longer able to care for her. My dr says to avoid stress at all cost, because it could take my life. I am more stressed now and do more now for my mom because I literally have to babysit the staff at the facility to make sure my mom is getting the care she needs. I get calls from my mom(who by the way, is on Hospice) at all hours of the night, because the staff is not responding in a timely manner. I have spoken to the head of the med techs and even to the director, but this continues to happen. I am afraid that because I speak up about the poor care, that the staff will take it out on my mom.I don't know what I am going to do.....I am retired and in poor health and on social security and my husband has terminal cancer. This is more than we should have to bear. ..please hire more staff, so you can meet the needs of your 150+ residents here in a timely manner. I fully expect that this post will be taken off their website to avoid bad press....but at least I am trying to get changes made and encourage the families if other residents to do the same.
