I only gave this property 4 stars because the apartments are becoming dated. Yes, the spa has been a continuing issue but is being refurbished as I write. The social activities are first class and the calendar is full of both free or very inexpensive activities. The staff is second to none from prompt maintenance to Yvonne, their wonderful and caring activities director. The pool area and grounds are beautiful and are maintained to stay that way. Ken is an outstanding owner who cares about his tenants and attends many events a year to show it. If 'just' an apartment is your goal, you can find cheaper. If an active community is how you want to spend your senior years, this is the place! Unfortunately the complainers are the ones who chose not to be part of the large family at Carefree....
