We have a family member here. The Meriwether has had more than one instance of a staff member having COVID. Tonight we received a series of emails that was accidentally sent to families by the director Suzy Nootz. It was supposed to be just between her and staff. It is very apparent that the first time a staff member tested positive for COVID a few weeks ago that they did not take enough precautions. Now there is another case. Suzy cares more about her appearance and protecting their reputation, then she does about the residents and the staff. Suzy states that staff should go into residents rooms reusing gowns but not masks. The virus droplets can go onto the gowns and infect vulnerable residents by this bad call. Staff shouldve been using N-95 masks consistently (and properly) after the first COVID exposure. If we had not received the emails we did we would not know shes doing this.We will hope the people in charge of AgeMark will replace Suzy immediately with someone honest who puts the residents well-being, and their family, above their ego. People cannot trust Suzy. The negative reviews on here about Suzy are true. I sincerely wish they were not. Agemark needs to notify families of the real situation as it unfolds and how its actually dealt with; not Suzys self-serving selective version of events she puts out. Her emails proved she has not given full disclosure as required by law.It is our immediate family member. We have to protect them. We have a right to know the whole truth about their environment at all times. The answer is to find a new executive director. Make changes immediately Agemark please. If they just circle the wagons around Suzy then we will know they are complicit in not putting residents first also. Agemarks loyalty should only lie with the residents they are responsible to care for; not PR or being blind to whats going on.To respond to their response below: I did receive an email from Marty Hug the COO after I emailed him to say just what I have on this review. I stand by everything I say. The emails we received did say to reuse gowns, and a lot more. The emails are the proof. No one said that they badmouthed staff or anyone. It is obviously a public relations standard to respond in the manner they have. Its clear that Agemark is not going to do anything about the bad situation with Suzy Nootz yet. No facility is going to be perfect, but what is unacceptable is when Agemark refuses to deal with directors or supervisors that are harming a facility. What family members (or staff) would want to deal with Suzys wrath by talking to her bosses about her? How out of touch the upper management is to what really goes on there with Suzy. Its not a witch-hunt, its a sad and scary situation for families. Our family sincerely hopes in the future that there is change.

We have had negative experiences with the Director, Suzy. The place is only good as the person running it. She acts one way when you come to visit before placing someone, but once youre here it changes. We feel Suzy to be one of the most narcissistic, cold and untrustworthy of the all the Directors we have experienced over the last five years. We have dealt with so many between Skilled Nursing and long term care facilities. The rest of the staff seems very caring and it is beautiful facility. We will watch over the next few months to see if anything changes.

We have my immediate family member at the Meriwether. I give it a three star because most of the staff members are great. In most ways it has been a very good experience for our family. But when we did speak with the director Suzy about a few problems as will happen with a new place, we did find her to be very cold, patronizing and unaccountable. She can get upset quickly. That was not the way she acted when we were looking at coming here. My son pointed out some lengthy 1 star reviews a few weeks ago (now gone). We could easily believe that Suzy was bad to that daughter of the new patient. That was our experience also. A review on here from an estranged family member (Kristi McClendon) bad mouthing the daughter of the new patient, that has no credibility. I find it dishonest for people to start writing up false five star reviews. Suzys job is not to say the woman was yelling to justify her decision to ask her to leave. Does Suzy have proof of this? Besides people who are going to say anything to curry favor with Suzy. Suzys job is certainly not to separate families. It would be to foster good family relationships. I doubt the Meriwether owners want these types of situations to continue. We will hope for the best

The Executive Director was kind and answered all of our questions. Truly the staff have been wonderful to work with and genuinely care about every step in the process and the ongoing care.
