If your parents or grandparents need any type of help getting around, remembering things, feeding ..DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. They aren't attentive. They usually dont answer when residents press their call button...sometimes it takes up to an hour or they don't come at all. They will tell you they will help your loved one, they are lying. Went to visit today and the nurse caring for my grandparent had a toddler with her! She brought her child to work. Can't remember to feed my grandmother her lunch today but I bet she doesn't forget to feed her own kid! And the kid was running around the hallways and my grandmothers room!! This place is a joke!!*UPDATE* My grandmother has been moved to a different facility so I don't fear for her safety anymore...and feel comfortable updating anyone who wants to know the truth. After I left this Google review (and I DID call and speak to the director before I left the review) every staff member that interacted with my grandmother spoke to her about it. She is 89 years old. She has no idea what Google is. The staff told her I should take the review down, treated her even worse after I left the review. The director of Tesson Heights spoke to my father while he was visiting my grandmother. (I am 36. My dad is 60.) .The director told my dad he should make me take the bad review down. Gave him a whole speech on how I should have given them time to correct the problems. I'm sorry but forgetting to feed someone who can't get up and feed themselves isn't a problem that should happen...there is no time for correction. Human beings need to eat. Need to bathe, walk, be treated like human beings and my grandmother was treated like an animal. The staff at Tesson Heights put more effort into getting my review taken down than actually taking care of my grandmother. She stayed at Tesson Heights for close to 5 months. In those 5 months her bathroom was never cleaned. Not one single time. Her room was vacuumed twice. Two times in 5 months. She was charged an extra $700 one month because the nursing staff had to bring her her food. The same food that is included in her monthly fee...they charged an extra $700 because they had to bring it to her. Nevermind that she had a stroke and had been recovering from a broken pelvis. Just charge her for every penny she has! The only time she bathed was when my sister went to help her because she got zero help from the staff. She developed sores from sitting in the same spot for days at a time. The staff forgot to bring her food or to wheel her down to the cafeteria too many times to count. If you visit Tesson Heights don't just walk around the common areas, go walk around the hallways. The overwhelming stench of urine is almost unbearable. Before you sign the contract to move your loved one here, check out the rooms. Check out the very room your loved one will be left in. My grandmother had a room where most of the outlets didn't work. She had extension cords running across her room. Which is perfect for someone trying to learn to walk again! On another review left by a nurse that brought her child to work with her she made it sound like sunshine and rainbows. The residents loved having a little kid around! And it was just that one time?! It wasn't just once. It just so happened that she brought her kid to work the same day I left the review. My grandmother has 5 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She loves kids, especially the little toddlers. However, no one asked if this child could come into her room, poke around in her stuff, run around the hallways screaming. She didn't like it. She was a resident. So that nurse's review would be false . Not everyone loved it. It's also worth mentioning again that the same nurse who brought her child to work that day also forgot to make sure my grandmother ate lunch...the same day. The same day she brought her child to work (for more than an hour) she forgot to feed my 89 year old grandmother.

From the minute you walk into the front door your greeted warmly and the staff is extremely helpful. The rooms and community areas are well kept and clean. Highly recommend.

Well done Lindsey on her review. YES these TH people bring their children to work!!! 1/1/2019. Someone went in and changed what I wrote warning families from this place. They actually approached a family member to confirm I had written a review suggesting that that family member have me change my review! I didn't SO THEY DID! Nope you want a better one earn it. Latest...allowing staff to bring their sick children onsite. So sick that even the staffer's babysitter would not take the kid. Going in and out of residents apartments without knocking or asking permission from the resident. Entering rooms after hours, no announcement to the resident that they are in the room. Giving meds late or not at all. No proper hygiene or cleaning from TH employees including handling eating utensils with no gloves. The best POSTING 'YOUR RIGHTS AS A RESIDENT OF TESSON HEIGHTS' on the back wall behind the kitchen where, of course, no one can even see it.

I love working at Tesson Heights and helping our residents stay happy, healthy and safe. Tesson Heights puts their residents first. Sometimes it is hard to get all my ducks in a row as a single mom. One Saturday, I had to bring my son to work with me for the first hour until my grandmother, who watches him every Saturday, could pick him up. The residents so enjoyed the baby therapy, Im planning another visit with my supervisor. I am happy I work at a place where the boss knows that I am dedicated but sometimes life just gives me a few challenges.
