Heritage Village

I can't say enough nice things about this lovely facility. My dad lived there until he passed this last month. Dad loved being part of the family, the staff always treated him and us for that matter like we was family. The facility is a smaller one which really worked well for my dad, he didn't have long distance to get to the dining room or great room. At any time we ever needed anything the staff was friendly and happy to accommodate. Dads room was always clean and the whole facility always smelled nice. Thank you to Heritage Village of Platte City for providing a home for my dad.

The inside is absolutely disgusting. Rooms have feces everywhere. Residents are constantly soaking through their clothes due to incontinence and no one looking after them because it's 'assisted' living. The real problem is they are drowning and can not keep enough staff to handle the problems in the building. They were supposed to treat curtains per the fire Marshall and washed them after 'treating' them. Who knows if they were actually ever treated. They treat employees like slaves. They will work you 100+ hours in 2 weeks with no option except to lose your job and then never pay you for it. The property manager never has a set schedule and comes and goes whenever she feels like it. She then becomes unavailable unless its an emergency but the emergency is determined by her. So you wait for answers or it doesnt get done. Meds are not ordered and residents repeatedly run out of things like insulin for example. A total mess. Would never put a family member here and would never recommend working for this company unless you like to do it for free.
