I was ready to place my Dad as private pay at Wilshire when I learned something appalling. If and when he should run out of money (on Medicaid) he would move to a semiprivate room in an opposite side of the facility with a separate dining room. Outwardly showing who is on Medicaid and who is not was a game changer in my decision. We went elsewhere.

The facility looks nice. The staff that provides servitude is wonderful for the most part. The higher ups DON and ADONs are the most hands off as possible. They never come to the aid of any staff, are backstabbers, gossipers and when someone voices concerns appropriately, even regarding harassment, not only does it fall upon deaf ears, but they would rather get rid of the employee than fix the issues. The coverups and remarkable shadiness is outrageous. Management is absolutely disrespectful, deceitful and completely and unapologetically takes complete advantage of staff. As long as you are a doormat and allow them to walk over you, then everything will work out nicely. Never mind false report given by the DON, questions and concerns being ignored regarding all matters and complete abandonment by management who literally have time to take group lunch breaks in the midst of staffing shortages. If you are someone who has backbone and stands up for what you believe in and resident care; never come here. The facility is nice! Ascetically pleasing. And the staff that provides care is great. Management is absolutely horrible. To be extremely mild.
