Received orders end of March with reporting 1 August. Sent in a request for housing on FLW May 2nd and was told they would contact us a month out from report date to go over options. That never happened. Its now mid July and we have the movers coming next week. We have had to call several times only to be told to call someone else or not get a response or answered call. We finally got ahold of someone that still isnt fully answering our questions or cares to understand we show up in less than two weeks. This rep sent info on a place that will be avail mid August. Not being understood is we need a address to register our children for school that starts 14 August..... this has turned into a huge un necessary additional stress. We gave them months of advance notice and they couldnt even get back to us at all. We initiated every call and email and still no answers.

When my husband received orders for Fort Leonard Wood, we were told housing was at 98% capacity and we would need to look off post for a place to live. I pulled up Craigslist to search for a rental home and found that almost every post was from on post housing asking people if they've ever wanted to live on post and urging them to put in applications. This would be fine if it wasn't civilians they were trying to attract while telling servicemembers that they have to live off post due to no availability. We've never dealt with anything like this in the 18 years my husband has served in the military.

Dont believe the hype about the conversion, they were poorly constructed and have air vents in the floor opposed to in the ceiling.....not a good plan for anyone with allergies. I was told when we arrived here that there was not many options for housing, later to find out there were plenty of options in the newer housing area. I tried to explain to the lady that my family and I arrived here from Fort Polk....we were sick of living in dump housing and really wanted a nice home this time around.....yeah well that didn't happen. You would think that an E7 who has served for 20+ years could at the very least get a house with a carport.....nope we had to settle for a house that looks like 1950s barracks.
