Our father was in Woodland and we never really had a problem with them. Now our mother is in there and we have had nothing but problems with there communication with us. If you talk to 3 different people you will get 3 different answers or no answers at all. I was actually lied to at one point. Don't trust them to tell you the truth. Ask every one the same question and see how many different answers you receive. They do seem to take good care of the residents.

Make sure this place is familiar with your issue before you go! My husband broke his tibia and fibula, he couldnt have surgery for 2 weeks b/c he developed an infection while in the hospital. The case worker at the hospital found a safe place for him to go so I had to move him to The Woodlands, A.K.A. The House of Pain! Upon arrival to the facility I had to inform the nurse of the hardware that was on my husbands leg they didnt know what it was called, this should have been our clue to RUN! No medication was available until the next day and the staff was unaware that my husband had an infection so they had no medication to treat it. On day 2, my husband was visited by the assigned house Doctor. To say the least, Dr. Wan should only be allowed to practice medicine at Guantanamo Bay! His mannerism is far from humane, he scoffed at us on more than one occasion and repeatedly said Ive been a doctor for 45 years so Ive seen it all. He forced a nurse to change my husbands dressings that said she was not comfortable doing so and asked if he could find another nurse to do it, he rudely said change it to the nurse, so she did her best! The doctor refused to call the hospital doctor regarding my husbands condition until I told the nurse that it was unacceptable. He then tried to lower the anxiety medication prescribed to my husband and offered no explanation. At this point several staff members suggested that we try to change house doctors but that it could not be done until Monday, it was only Saturday. When my husband requested a wheelchair to get out of bed the staff told him that no one on duty had a key to the closet that had the leg supports for the wheelchairs, so he was never able to get out of his bed for 2 days. My husbands prescribed medications were never sorted out properly and I was given paperwork that stated he was given medication when I know for a fact it was not given to him. The staff was no longer helpful by Sunday morning and was basically telling us to leave and go back to the hospital. So I called an ambulance to pick my husband up to take him back to the hospital as his pain was out of control and he hadnt eaten in 2 days. Once we got to the ER, the doctors said it seemed that he had been poorly placed by the hospital and that The Woodlands didnt know how to care for him properly. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND DONT LEVAE A LOVED ONE HERE!

My brother was sent from the hospital to woodlands for physical rehab. Unfortunately an underlying condition made him unable to participate in the therapy. He was sent back to hospital 4 days into his stay. After the underlying condition was cleared up he was sent back for rehab. At that time they decided not to give him PT based on his performance at his earlier stay. He was there for 8 days. He was not gotten out of his bed even once. He was not bathed even once. He returned to the hospital dirty, smelly and with a blood clot in his leg from laying there with no actual care given to him.
