Mossy Oak GC is certainly the most unique course in Mississippi that I've played, and compared to the average MS course it is an experience. I thought there were a fair amount of well designed holes and the conditioning was very good, not great. All that being said, I found it disappointing. Based on appearance I was hoping for a heathland-style golf round but the fairways were just a soft as any other in the state; can't really play the ground game. The greens were OK but several putts were wobbly on the way to the hole. Finally, while I do believe that the course has 'natural' contours and may in fact be very environmentally-friendly, I do not think it is natural in the sense that almost nowhere in MS looks like this. Is it really natural if you clear out all the trees and plant foliage that makes it look like you were dropped in Kansas?
