My mother has been at Emerald Crest Mtka for over two years, and we are very happy with it.We love the layout! There are 12 bedrooms circling a large living room and dining room. I like that they have bedrooms, not apartments, which encourages residents to leave their bedroom and come out to where all the action is. And there are activities available seven days a week. Emerald Crest has three houses, each with different levels of dementia, which works really well. I wanted mom to be with other Seniors who have similar mental and physical capabilities as she does, so that she could make friends. It has worked out really well, and she has made friends. I remember walking her to a table for lunch one of the first days she was there. Her whole face lit up when she saw who she would be sitting with. She didnt know their names, but she knew that she liked them.Mom has gotten excellent nursing/health care at Emerald Crest. When mom moved in, she had infected diabetic ulcers on her feet and legs that we thought would kill her. She has gotten such good care at Emerald Crest that when these diabetic ulcers do occur, they are quickly treated before they can get worse. I feel that they are no longer a threat to her life. The staff at Emerald Crest has always quickly responded to our questions and concerns. Because I am confident about the quality of care my mother is getting, I dont worry about what is happening when Im not there. Im able to go on vacation, and even travel out of the country, knowing that my mother is being well cared for.I highly recommend the Minnetonka Emerald Crest.

We had a horrible experience here. The staff was hard to find for assistance throughout the day. My sister stayed with mom most days since we feared for her safety. On a day my sister couldn't be there, my mother had to go to the bathroom, and could not get assistance. She tried to walk, fell and hit her head and died within a week. She had a friend visit and was stuck in the building for 15 minutes before she could find a staff member to let her out since the doors are locked. Food was said to be chef prepared, but came out of bulk containers and mom found most meals not suitable to eat. Many bologna sandwiches were served. Only 2 people were on staff most of the time at her house. So sadly disappointed. The concept sounded great, but not what was delivered.
