The Clara House has a caring, trained and compassionate staff. The environment is safe and comfortable, and the staff makes every resident feel special in many individual ways. Also, there is productive communication between staff and family members. The 3 daily meals are nutritious, tasty, well planned, and prepared with home-made care. The outdoor secured courtyard is a welcome place in the spring, summer and fall when weather permits. For holidays and special events, local schools and churches have provided activities and programs. The Clara House is truly an important member of the La Crescent community.

Loved the residents!! Pay is great!! Turn over rate is horrible. I loved my job there and the floor staff. I was a lead and watched Oxford bring in new CCO and regional directors and basically wiped out higher ups who were great and supportive and had 5 years plus with company. When these new higher ups came they came and suspended our director and put her under investigation. No reason given Worked there for 8 years. Then hired are nurse we just got who was wonderful to be director un place of our one they took awsy from us. In a year and half I was there we had 3 nurses. CCO and regional and all higher ups of Oxford Managment gave us no support. Ending in the result of our nurse/director leaving as well as my self. Very burned out working 24 hr shifts, always having to fill open shifts. Didnt get on call pay as a lead until the ending month I was there. Staff abonding the building, narcs missing, staff coming to work drunk, peri cares not being done, residents not being toileted every 2 hrs, meds not being given with in the correct time frame. Higher ups just didnt care. Its very sad! Feel bad for the residents and their families. In a matter of 5 months they went through 1 nurse 2 directors, 6 leads and over 20 staff. I hope Nesnah sees how we had a good team until theses new oxford people came showed no support when we needed it never came to check in at our buildings. Firing people for no reasons. And now its slowly falling apart. If the Hansen brothers only new the real infomation they would be in their best intetest to get rid of Oxford. Your buildings are falling a part because of Oxford!! Over worked, short staffed, cook needs to be fired her food is nasty and undercooked and kitchen is nasty. Residents really didnt enjoy meals. I hope state shuts them down and theses families pull their loved ones out soon!

If I could rate this lower I would.... Turn over of staff is terrible.. I worked there since Nov. Staff getting fired for stupid things..RN. Lives q1and a half hours away from work. She's on call at night so when she is called she is half asleep when answering your question s then not remembering what was said or how many times was actually called...director saying one thing then doing another.... Working 11 or 12 days straight because there is no one else to work. Working alone because staff is too tired to come in. Wouldn't even consider putting anyone I know there.. Residents are not kept busy. They go to bed right after supper which is served between 430 and 5...oxford is terrible at figuring checks out too...missed 16 hours of time on first check...missed 12 hours of it on 2nd check still habe not been paid for those hours. Couldn't read timecard or figure it out 91 hours in 2 weeks. Equal 11 hours ot Other people were shorted too...I think place should be closed down until new staff is brought in place is run by more competent leaders
