I would give this a much higher score being that most of the nurses really do enjoy there jobs while others are earning a paycheck. The facility is definitely understaffed and when you mention it to admin they will tell you other wise. Then why must one send out a message on social media to call the facility after a fall since none was answering the call light. This was around 6-7am. Then spent many nights chasing down an aid to assist my neighbor who was on hospice and calling for help to go bathroom, that to my dismay they were sitting in the dining room talking while lights were flashing like crazyHad one nurse change my dressing on the floor( same time add fall) been denied dressing change as was told that it didn't get it every day Obviously they didn't follow orders, and another nurse dropped the bandage on the floor (no longer sterile) then I watched her put it into my open wound as wet/dry in which she made it her decision to not follow doctor orders and use the proper bandages. In fact she decided to not apply them, however, next day I brought it to nurse coordinator attention in which she called the nurse. Well I guess I LIED about it. Then don't get me going on the dietary needs/ lack of. Don't expect then to follow any kind of restrictions or follow any special requests. They came out first meal, introduced themselves and said of if you need anything and they put emphasis on anything to let them know. Well apparently it's very difficult to get a chicken salad sammich without the bread. Don't ask for ketchup they will slap your hand if you try touch the bottle. And seating is in stone literally Don't ask too dot somewhere you're not comfortable. You'll have to bring your grievance/ concern to an entire staff of relatives. I guess in a charitable society Nepotism doesn't matter. I just hope the cooks son does the right thing in my latest episode of retaliation. I wish there was an ombudsman that would take a look at this facility. They're needs to be an advocate for some these folksWasn't able to take a shower for a week. No one explained the laundry situation or bathing for more than a week. I don't know how the other GSS operates in this city but stay away from this location at all cost . Unfortunately you can't post pics of the filth here and the joke of dietary menu.

Highly knowledgeable, comprehensive, respectful, kind, caring, and nurturing describes the life my sister experienced in her 3 month stay at Good Samaritan. 3 months because this is the time her terminal cancer allowed. During this timespan Sandy was seen by a highly qualified oncologist and comforted with massages, nail care, whirlpool baths, dog and music therapy, as well as welcomed chaplain visits. My daily visits allowed a first hand experience with the kind and caring environment, sweet physical and emotional care, treatment, and relationships provided by staff (and Hospice Team) at Good Samaritan. The kind and caring treatment was also provided by the dining room staff ~ every day and each meal (due to Sandy having just 4 teeth). Mashed potatoes w butter was her daily (every meal) request. Request honored! Sandy's happiness, peacefulness, and comfort at GS is what mattered most. With grateful appreciation ~Diane, sister of resident along with her extended family and friends.

I have only been working here for 6 months and I have to say the staff are so kind and really get to know the residents And their families and truly care about them.

After a rough start they have proved themselves to be really good at what they do. Although it took some action my dad is now involved and actively participating in social events that work his mind and keep him from being isolated as one of the youngest residents. He has had huge challenges to over come and I am grateful that action has been taken to improve his quality of life. The nurses and staff have gotten him medical assistance timely and for that I am so very very Thankful!
