My dad has been there six years and the new management is evicting him because of his dementia. They have called the police on him twice even though they know he can't understand consequences. The police threaten to arrest him and he can't understand what he did wrong. He quickly forgets that he's had warnings. The staff has also berated and insulted me to upset him and there was no follow-up. The place often smells of urine. Don't send your loved ones there if you want compassionate and professional care.

I have worked at the Homestead at Coon Rapids for the past 12 years! I have had the privilege to meet and care for the wonderful seniors who have chosen to live at our Homestead. Every day I tell them that they are now a part of my extended family and we enjoy many great moments together! Its not everyone who can look forward to going to work, but I do it happily and am thankful for the opportunity.

I have been an employee of The Homestead at Coon Rapids, Volunteers of America, for just over three months. In that time I have continuously observed residents that have been well cared for, healthy and happy. The cozy feel of the building paired with laughter throughout makes this a great place to work and live.
