My mother loved her treatment at Neilson place. the nurses and CNA staff took excellent care of her while she recovered from a broken hip. The physical therapists were kind and diligent about helping her improve her health. there was more food than she could possibly eat and they always received a special dessert after dinner. Would definitely request my mother staying there again when needed. Julie an RN is one of our favorites! Although so many were good to her! Thank you Nielson Place.

Never ever think of sending your loved ones here. It was a nightmare and I demanded to stay the night to watch the treatment. Nobody gave my father his nausea or anxiety medication after several hours of uncontrollable vomiting while he suffered from a complete intestinal blockage due to cancer. I had to complain to Sanford and social workers to get him out of there. On the short drive in the ambulance back to Sanford for hospice, he became unresponsive because they overdosed him on pain medication at Nielson's. The emergency personnel unhooked the continuous PCA dose of narcotics he was on. He went through apnea, slow heart rate, cold sweats and we were told he would pass soon. Before he went to this 'home' he was walking around and completely normal other than the vomit and pain. I asked the doctor if these were signs of an overdose and he said yes. Thankfully, he woke up after some time and made it through to live two months after that ordeal. It wasn't a pleasant experience and rather than the cancer taking my father, it was going to be the high medication dosage administered by hospice staff at Nielson's. If I had not been there to see the wrong in this he would have died from overdose and never receive any nausea medication. Not only this but I had to deal with so-called nurses who complained every time I asked them to help me clean him or the mess that had been made during his bouts of illness. What a disgusting place that needs to be shut down.

This place is horrible. The RN staffs on Mulberry unit are mean and very rude to the residents.
