Oakmont Sterling Senior Community

Great place, great care to clients and staff is fantastic

I made a pastoral visit to a resident here and I was impressed by the cleanliness of the facility and spaciousness. I like the decor and most importantly the staff seemed attentive well-trained and accommodating. All in all a very nice facility For senior living and for enhanced care and rehab.

Oakmont Sterling is a 5 star, top notch community. I moved my parents here two years ago. The attentiveness of the entire staff, Oakmont and care staff, is outstanding. The facilities are always impecably cleaned (the places that you can see, and those that you can't). My mother needed the services offered by the care staff, whereas my father was much more independent, but also periodically needed some care services during his stay. My mother requires a very high level of care often requiring a 2 person assist, and they were able to meet her needs. The relationships that my parents built with the entire staff (housekeeping, directors, front office, etc.) and care givers was heart warming. You will not find a better community for the level of care that they offer. Please read that last sentence again, because I have seen most communities within a 10 mile radius of here.Unfortunately, my mother reached a point where the level of care needed was greater than this type of community provides and we recently moved out. She requires the use of a Hoyer lift, which this staff will not operate. Throughout the entire process, Oakmont was very understanding, respectful, and helpful. I have helped my mother transition to 3 other high-end facilities in the nearby reigon (Troy & Rochester), and none of them offered the level of service or facility that Oakmont does. Should our family's situation change in the future, and we can fit into the services that they offer, we would return without hesitation.Additionally, it is right around the corner from Troy Beaumont Hospital and a multitude of specialist doctors. Moving my parents here made my family's life much easier and lifted a huge burden in our ability to help care for them. Oakmont provided rides (included in cost) to the doctors, which were usually right there at Beaumont. A short ride to services made an easier life for my parents. A brand new Kroger is being built nextdoor, which can be walked to from the property.I have never been an Oakmont employee, nor was I paid or prompted to provide this review. I understand the importance of personal reviews of such great places. I've been at the mercy of trying to find detailed information to try to make the best informed decision for my parent's health and quality of life.Oakmont, thank you! We will miss you!

My Uncle and Aunt were trying it out. They seemed to like it real good. Definitely makes life easier for them. There is someone always close by that can help out.
