Beautiful facility but didn't see any attention to my Dad when He turned call light on. Finally after 20 min, aide came in and I told her that Dad had to get up to go to the bathroom. She said 'well he's going to have to wait.' I asked her if I could take him to the bathroom since I was a nurse (didn't know rules) and she said yes. Of course he was embarrassed having his daughter wipe him up but I certainly didn't mind. During the 2 hr visit, he told me twice that the aides are very 'mean' and it takes forever to get light answered. This is a 99 year old man who is extremely alert (a brilliant historian), but because he is hard of hearing he may not appear that way. Breaks my heart that he has to be treated this way in what is probably the last year of his life. Good care might be too much to ask for (probably short staffed as usual) but to show him a smile or a bit of dignity would mean the world to him.

My mother was here for barely two days and fell. Had to be rushed to emergency and was in ICU until yesterday with a subdural hematoma and other issues. I have received 3 different stories on what actually happened, two separate stories from the attending nurse in fact, which makes me believe someone is worried about their job. In the 2 days my mother was here, I encountered some truly wonderful and helpful staff. Unfortunately, I encountered more that were rude and always seemed too busy to help my mother. I was rudely told that she needs to wait and use the call light. She has dementia. You can tell her to use the call light a thousand times. And she will understand while you are telling you. But 5 minutes later, she won't remember the conversation or what a call light is. She is not doing it on purpose, its just the nature of the disease. Seems that the staff may not be educated on how to deal with people with memory issues. I don't know if this place is under staffed, not trained well, or they just hate their jobs. Either way, I was not impressed with this place. And while at the hospital, I had two people tell me that they had bad experiences at this place as well. Apparently it used to be good, but not so much these days! I left messages for the Head Administrator to call me to discuss why there were 3 different stories to what happened and I have not heard a word. I see he has responded to some complaints and tells people to call him, but I wonder if those people actually got to speak to him. He sure doesn't seem to care that my 85 year old mother ended up in ICU under his care. My next step is going to be filing a formal complaint with the State of Michigan.

If I could give zero stars, I would.I wouldn't let a dog I like stay here. The staff is lazy, beligetant and refuse to help in most cases. They are constantly on their cell phones, hiding out where they can't be found or just plane goofing off.I asked an aid to help me transfer my friend to a wheelchair and she refused.Thank goodness a therapist walked in the room as I was begging for help and the aid changed her tone, but still begrudgly, helped me get him into the wheelchair. My friend has gone down-hill physically since he's been at this facility.I could go on, but I think you get the picture.
