The sous chef was stealing food when some workers seen what was going on he fired them. He was never background checked and was fired after he put in a transfer because he was a convicted felon. If brookdale had a tiny bit of integrity they would offer those workers jobs back after there HR department screwed up.

Worked here for 8 months, very unprofessional and an awful work place. They DIDN'T fire a cook who server RAW chicken to a resident because they didnt temp it. Pretty sad. I was basically let go because my boss had to work a Sunday morning that I couldn't because of a doctors appointment for my son. Most of the staff doesn't care about the residents and will treat them differently, in most cases worst, from others if they have illnesses (dementia, Alzheimer's, etc), they are super cheap about EVERYTHING, the bosses aren't straight forward, we are never full-staffed and the bosses don't work when actually needed, stressful environment, lots of drama. Awful hiring system. I wouldn't put my own mother in this place! This place is just awful for anyone's loved ones and a horrible work place. I advise everyone to steer clear.

My Mother has been living at Brookdale in Novi for two years. The staff is very friendly, helpful and considerate of everyone. The facility is well maintained and the quality of service is excellent. They offer many activities and opportunities for families to participate. On November 17th the staff hosted an OUTSTANDING Thanksgiving dinner for the residence and their families. The food was very good, and the atmosphere was festive with decorations, live music and friendly smiles. My Mother has 11 living children and we ALL agree Brookdale in Novi is great place for a seniors to live. :)
