My mother (90+ years old) stayed at Marycrest for some physical therapy after a hospital visit. She was admitted right before the Covid-19 breakout and subsequent statewide lockdown. Her experience was somewhat unusual because after 1 week, everything went into lockdown, so she couldn't enjoy most of the amenities, and I certainly can't blame the facility for that. The most important thing is that they made a great effort to keep the facility as safe as possible, adopting safety protocols (like no outside visitors) BEFORE the state made them mandatory, and before other facilities did. Bottom line is, my mother got out of there alive and well, and got her needed physical therapy. Other facilities nearby had double-digit Covid deaths, and nursing facilities in general have been hit hard. Marycrest has done better than most in this regard. The campus and rooms are very nice and well-maintained. The doctors/therapists that worked with her did an excellent job and she returned home able to continue to live on her own. She got along great with the staff, and they all treated her very well. She really enjoyed being there, despite the covid-19 situation which limited her ability to do activities and other issues, which were beyond anyone's control. The staff went out of their way to try to give her activities to do in her room because the activity rooms were closed due to the virus. They were somewhat short-staffed due to the virus, so things weren't perfect, but if it ran this well under these circumstances I would think it would be a great place during 'normal' times. I'm seeing mostly negative reviews here, and I can say that they do not reflect my mother's experience. I deducted a star because the food was only 'ok' in her opinion (I didn't try it personally). Not bad, not great, but considering the 'hospital/rehab' setting, it's probably on par with most places. Although they do seem willing to accommodate special requests, which is nice. I didn't rate the activities because those rooms were closed due to Covid-19, but they did improvise to try to give her things to do in her room other than watch tv. I put 5 stars for value because it was covered by insurance so there was no cost to her.She said she'd definitely consider going into assisted living there if she couldn't stay at home anymore.

Beautiful place to look at, Day shift nurses and aides very lazy rude, They won't even change the patients bedding even when it's soiled. Afternoon nurses and the aids are very wonderful knowledgeable helpful. Reporting things to the higher up is a joke. Physical therapy department fabulous job well done, Social worker department rude obnoxious very unprofessional,, They are not knowledgeable not helpful and are very nasty. I personally would not recommend this facility for anything other than rehab. And family members, coming and going, checking on your loved one a true MUST. Be careful of the ever so LAZY DAY SHIFT, Wowwwww, their Scary.

My Mother went to Marycrest so she could get some physical therapy and extra care after she had a fall. The first night was horrible! She didnt get her medications and was left in pain the whole night. When she pushed the button to ask for her meds the aid came in and told her to leave the button alone the nurse will be in we she has time. The next day we discussed this with the head nurse, who guaranteed us this would be addressed with the staff and not happen again. Well, the staff didnt take well to the complaints! At mealtime she is always the last to be served! It has become so obvious that they are doing this to Punish her that the other residents have started saying things. If my mom waves to one of the servers to come over they just wave back. The lady in the next room has been there just over a week and has no family, and she cries because she wants out and has no one to pick her up and there is no one to stick up for her. There is NO phone number after hours to speak to a nurse! I have spent so much time trying to contact my moms Nurse ,because no one has responded to the call button, but its IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!I will be going to Marycrest tomorrow morning and taking my mom home! I will figure out how to get her healthy and back on her feet!!!!
