Excellent care!! Mom is safe, warm and well cared for. The staff are continually focused in on addressing her daily needs (as they are with other residents). Although she is unable to speak, her thankfulness is evident and I know she is pleased. I have witnessed her patting their hands, hugging them with open arms and sometimes, as a staff members are bending over to help, she kisses their cheek. Thank you, thank you to Living Joy staff for ALL you do - am so grateful!!

Some of the management there is horrible! They use gate belts as restraints for residents! The administrator Stacy Bohn is horrible!

This place is disgusting! They use gait belts to restrain some of the residents. What facility doesn't allow their residents to walk around?! They get some sort of soup and sandwich or a piece of frozen pizza for dinner just about every time I'm in there. With the amount of money they charge you would think the residents could eat something other than food out of a crock pot? Very sad facility. The woman who runs it has a terrible attitude on top of everything so going to her with concerns gets you nowhere. I checked out the Hyde Park Memory building and it was much better with a nicer woman running it.

Living Joy is a great place to place a loved one. They are kind, compassionate, and you can tell they really care about your loved one. They work very closely with the residents and families. Communication is great. It's a very clean environment. The staff are team player that work so well together. They are always laughing and having a great time with the residents. I love how they encourage residents to do as much as they can for themselves while making sure they are safe. They are a great Christian environment with prayer before meals and activities going for the residents. They like to incorporate the families for fun events which makes for great family bonding.

More like a living nightmare. My mother and aunt looked into this for my grandfather with dementia and Parkinson's and they could not get out of there fast enough. Lots of promises and talk of good things when the lady who owns it came to assess my grandpa. The minute they walked into the building they wanted to walk right back out. For the price you pay you would expect something a little nicer. They don't even have private bathrooms, they have to share bathrooms. And it stunk like it hadn't been cleaned properly in ages. No thank you. He means more to us than to put him in that squalor.
