Morningside House of St. Charles

Came to see my great aunt and it smelled like pee all through out the building I told one of the staff and she said it always smells like this disappointing

I worked at Morning side for about 6 months. I had a great love for the residents. I really enjoyed assisting with the elderly getting through their daily activities. I took a lot of pride in my work initially. And felt like a family member to some of the residents. That was the only joy in the building. There was a continuous vacancy for the health and wellness Director. They would only last about 2 months. I believe the biggest issues the RN's had was working for the executive director Krista she would not allow the nurses to make changes or work freely as directors. She does not have any respect for employees, if you are not in a management role you will always be considered in the wrong. This was actually said to me in a conversation. The director for Alzheimer's and Dementia Christine does not properly run her floor. And allows morning staff to neglect the care of the residents! The dining hall has been shut down for about a month, due to the lack of care from the morning staff on floor 2. Monteray knew a residents toilet was clogged and over flowing all morning and did nothing to clean it up or report it. The director was aware as well and did not delegate her staff to clean up. A few hours later there is a flood that shuts down nearly the entire hall way and the entire dining hall on level 1. If you know the elderly they are very routine and the highlight of the day is meal time and preparing for it. I have seen residents declining due to the dining hall being closed and that is something that could have easily been prevented. The building smells awful from the time I put in my application to the day I left. There is a lot of racist staff and even from other blacks who have a higher position. very sad. There are CNA's and there are Resident Aides. Depending on who you are as a resident aide with no training you could be making more than a CNA. That place is terrible! And someone needs to investigate Krista, she can not keep any directors in her building or employees. The issues start with her and trickles down. I have a new job and I Thank God. I will truly miss some residents but not the harassment lies disrespect and micromanagement style of that company made me run! The turn over right is too high! On all levels and that is a true testament to the directors character. Stay clear of this place and if you are desperate for a job and want to give it a try I wish u the best. I would not put my mother in that facility and we don't even have a good relationship. PEACE. and yes I had time today . And check the credit card statements for floor 2. Buying residents salty French fries from McDonalds and yourself a salad for lunch is not the purpose of those funds.
