My family and I spent years caring for our aging parents (86&89) because we wanted them to have the very best life possible. We continued for more than a year when it became a 24/7 job. When it became a 24/7 job for more than one, it was time to look at outside help. The decision was a very difficult one. We looked at a lot of places. My brother and I visited the facility without an appointment on a weekend. We got a complete tour from Fonda on the front desk and a follow up meeting that day with Judy, the Executive Director. We were sold.My folks were some of the very first residents at Spring Arbor. I visit them several times a week. I emphasize the word 'visit' because the last decade had been an arduous, soul crushing, work detail. Now when I see them, we talk about the little things and we all experience life in the way we did when we were younger. The staff is very kind and caring. The family gets constant updates and suggestions to make our parents lives even richer. I believe there are only 17 residents as of this writing with room for about 100 more. The building is as nice as the nicest, newest hotel you can imagine. The staff is top notch and very caring. The nurses and GNAs really go out of their way to make our parents feel cared for and appreciated. They are proactive and detail oriented. A local doctor is available for the residents. He was quick to offer help for my mother's back pain and helped her to feel better her very first week. The PT staff is very attentive and already working to help my folks maintain their quality of life. The food is excellent in taste and preparation. The staff in that department go out of their way to make our parents very happy at meal time. I hope this will help some other families find a little peace. We all deserve to be happy and Spring Arbor is working hard to make that happen.Edited 07/23/19 Spring Arbor has begun to offer field trips for the folks to get out to local restaurants and ice cream shops. SA also contracted an in house hair stylist/barber named Dawn. She does a great job at a very reasonable price.A podiatrist has also begun to visit. One less thing to worry about. The local Catholic Church also visits to provide communion once a week.Edited 08/21/19Our family continues to be blown away by the care that our parents are receiving. Mom had a medical emergency and the SA staff was quick to get her to a higher level of care. As her treatment at the hospital came to a conclusion, the staff there offered to let her stay. I felt that they wanted her to feel secure in a scary situation. It was a very nice offer. Mom's eyes welled up and her answer was 'I want to go back to Spring Arbor, where they treat me just like my family.'So yeah, just totally blown away. Thanks Spring Arbor! Again!
