I was very disappointed in this rehab program as they were ill-equiped to deal with my husband's needs and in all probability should not have accepted him into their program. He was experiencing some behaviors due to the heavy duty meds he was taking and had been identify as a fall risk. Staffing was not adequate to handle the number of residents who might need extra care. By rules they could not use a motion pad or guide rails the length of the low beds. I stayed with him 10+ hours the 2 and a half days he was there to assist with feeding, bath rooming and general support when he was not with OT or PT. On many occasions, when he pushed the assistance button that he had to bathroom or needed to be changed it was a lengthy time before someone came if at all. At night was a particular problem for him and I was told he needed 24/7 one-on-one staffing. I explained I was there during the day with little problems and could switch to nights if that work better. We finally agreed on trying a one-on-one at night. I stayed to meet the one-on-one and was very pleased. That lasted 4 hours before I was called that he was being transferred to the hospital due to'out of control' behavior when he was trying to get out of bed. I had left my phone number to call me at anytime to calm him as I had done while he was in the hospital. His being sent to ER was probably a good decision since after 24hr observation, & some med changes it was determined that he probably would be better at home with outpatient therapy than going back to rehab. This program may be a great program for those that only need OT or PT rehab or residence who need minimum attention or are unable to get out of bed but not for those who need more assistance for whatever reason. OT and PT staff very good as were the assistants when they had time to help with residents.
