Summerfield Senior Living of Hammond

Placed my mom in the memory care unit there in February. A very very warm welcome when we arrived. Staff top notch. Great interaction with my mom and my wife and myself. I feel that she has been taken care of with compassion and caring especially in these trying times.

DONT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!My grandfather was assaulted by a nurse at Summerfield. The incident was caught on the facilitys video. The aide pushed my grandfather into a glass coffee table and then left him on the floor bleeding for several minutes until he got himself on to the sofa. No nearby staff came to help him. He was transported via ambulance to the ER and my mom was called and told he had fallen and was acting out. We believe a cover up by the administration ensued from that point on. He was asked to move out and only later did the video tell the true story. The administration has fired several employees who wanted to contact my family and to this day they have not apologized or acknowledged their dishonesty. They have not taken action in holding anyone accountable for actions that harmed a non-verbal patient who could not take care of himself. Whatever you do you dont leave your loved ones here. My grandfathers health was severely impacted by this assault and he spent months rehabilitating. It has been traumatic for my family.

Very friendly, loving and caring staff. Love to see all the activities provided. So many Happy faces on the residents.

This is a great place to stay and the staff is very pleasant and friendly. The property is absolutely beautiful with large rooms and good food. I understand theres some disgruntled employees that have made it a point to post negative reviews online here about this community so I felt compelled to write my personal experience.

I had my mother there in the memory care area for 2 years before she passed. I found the management to be very responsive and she had a number of very good friends there. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for assisted living or memory care in the Northshore area.
