Brooklyn Matinee
The Director of Nursing Shannon Williams is the worst. Shannon is almost impossible to communicate with, she's all over the place (where conversations are concerned) and never listens without blowing you off. She lies, cover things up, speaks to her staff terribly, doesn't listen to the residents and over talks you. Her staff is resigning frequently because of her behavior and having a strong nursing staff is very significant to patient care. Stopping relatives from sending family members to the hospital and it unfortunately led to their death is unacceptable. It is one thing to be a lead administrative nurse and give instructions, then to be an arrogantly domineering person of superior, shifting your weight around in an unpleasant manner.

My cousin lived at The CareCenter. A little over a year ago I arrived to pick her up for our usual monthly outing and she was in an incoherent stupor. I immediately called a nurse over and found out that they had doubled her medication because of an incident. Although I strongly suspected she was being over medicated and shared my concern with her immediate family, I had no authority to do anything. She was never the same after that until recently when she ended up in the hospital. After a few days in the hospital away from The CareCenter, she regained her mental awareness after not having it for well over a year.

Took my grandma here and less then a month, she passed away! She was healthy when she went in. I don't have any proof or anything of bad treatment but law enforcement and gov agencies need to look into this place and shut them down. Only god knows the truth to what happened. Theses people, their time will come soon enough.

Don't be deceived by the pictures, this place is one of the worst in Baton Rouge. This place is very unsanitary, the smell is the most unpleasant and the rooms (which are not pictured) are just as disgusting. The hall ways are too narrow and in constant traffic jams with residents in wheelchairs trying to get around staff and carts occupying the same space. The most appealing area in this facility is the office area. If you love your loved one do everything in your power to find a better facility than this one, my personal opinion is it should be closed down.
