I must admit that after reading several of the reviews, I was hesitant to even consider admitting my father to the facility, but as it was very close to my home, I decided to look at the facility. None of the horrible things reported below were apparent to me. I am not sure if there has been a change in management since those reviews or not. I was greeted promptly and kindly, given a tour and encouraged to ask any questions I may have had. I left with a much better feeling than I started out with, and placed my father here. That has been over 7 weeks ago, and to date, I have nothing but positive experience to happily report. Its not easy putting a loved one in someone elses care, but I am confident that we made the right decision. I did give 4 stars rather than 5 because there are a few areas that are in need of repair, but they have no effect on the great care that is being provided, and I am told that renovations are being planned. Keep up the great work Masonic team. I hope my father continues to enjoy his stay. Thank you!

My mother has been a resident at the Masonic Home since January. She was in pretty bad shape when she arrived after being in another facility since September; she was bed bound, incontinent, depressed, and was in pain. Her muscles were beginning to atrophy. It's now August, and while my mother does not walk on her own, the physical therapy she has been received has allowed her to be out of her bed and wheel around the facility, and even walk a bit with the help of a walker and a helper! The Activity Director has gotten her involved in the daily happenings at Masonic. The nurses care for her wounds, and know what she likes and dislikes. The Patient Care Techs have taken a personal interest in her and her family. In fact, she misses them when they are away! While it's true that there is no place like home, this is a wonderful facility that comes as close as possible. Even at home, perfection is impossible to achieve. Yet if you're looking for a facility that is not only safe, but will treat your loved one with dignity, patience, and love (yes, LOVE), look no further. Masonic Home Shelbyville is that place.

In over 25 years of healthcare experience, this is one of the most beautiful, well managed facilities I have had the pleasure of touring. The residents and staff appeared very content in my observation. In regards to all the comments about the current Administrator, while I do not know her personally, I DO know that my son, who is also a nurse of many years, has worked extensively with her over the past 15 years, and I DO know that the facility in which they worked had multiple years of deficiency free surveys. Hard to imagine that given the portrait that has been painted of that individual isnt it? Instead of being so negative, embrace the change and be grateful that such a competent individual is in charge. I am certain that state surveys speak for themselves, so do some research before partaking in such negative feedback!!

I have been in Healthcare since 2002 and I can honestly say I have NEVER worked with a better team than here at Masonic Home in Shelbyville. Staff are always willing to help where needed and ALL HANDS are on deck to care for your loved ones. Conjuna is a very hard working dedicated Administrator, who is on call 24/7, responding quickly to anything brought to her attention, and with any help that is needed. I have not seen nor have I ever been to any nursing facility that gives greater care to their residents or staff! I'm beyond proud to say I work with a tremendous team here at Masonic!

Masonic Assisted Living was wonderful to my family. They were very accommodating. My father had some issues with the hospital discharge which held us up and Lucas was gracious enough to wait two hours after business hours on a Friday to meet us and complete our paperwork. Lucas was very knowledgeable, kind and gave me his cell number upon admission. The staff was very friendly and became more like friends to my father. I would highly recommend Masonic Assisted Living to anyone needing to take this step.
