Windsor Manor is a great place for your loved ones. Their staff truly does care about their residents. They have weekly activities and a lot of fun things to do. I would recommend any of the Windsor Manor communities to anyone looking. They are willing and open to give tours anytime and answer any questions you have.

I would caution those of you are who considering placing their loved one in the facility, to get any assurances they give you in writing, in a legal document. We placed our mom in the memory care unit in 2016 and were told that if we paid full price for 2 years, they would work with us to ensure she stayed on as a Medicaid patient, since they did accept Medicaid. This was part of our decision in placing her there, because it is so hard on Alzheimers patients to be moved. When my dad had paid full price, approximately $5500/month for 3 1/2 full years, we had to apply for Medicaid. When she was enrolled in Medicaid, Dad and my sister met with the executive director who told us We no longer accept Medicaid. Therefore we had to move Mom, during the winter, during holiday season. They made it clear she could continue to stay, as long as she continued to pay full price of nearly $6000/month, at a time when my dad is needing the money for his living expenses. (She would not have qualified for Medicaid if they were wealthy and Dad could afford to continue to pay the $6000/month). In an attempt to negotiate with Foster Senior Living, owners of Windsor Manor from Springfield Missouri, I tried to schedule a face to face meeting with their regional director. Through repeated emails, I offered to drive 5 hours to meet with her (because she said her office was 5 hours from the Shenandoah facility), but she would only agree to do face time via phone, so I gave up. We then called Foster Senior Living administrative offices and asked to speak to the owners. They had one of their employees call us, and when we insisted on talking to the owners, we were told that the owners would not speak to us. After we made our case and attempted to see if they would reconsider their decision (since we were told some of the residents currently on Medicaid were being grandfathered in, the Fosters (again via their employee) told us they could not help us. They couldnt even make an exception for Mom to stay their through the winter and holiday season. Their refusal to have the common courtesy to speak to Dad, my sisters and I was disrespectful in the extreme, especially since mom had been living there for 3 1/2 years. Their Foster Senior Living website makes many references to how much they care for seniors. We learned that they care for their seniors during and up to the point that they can pay FULL price. Its all about the money. Their prior assurances and word made no difference.
