Oakland Manor was my familys first experience and the worst ever! Having a loved-one live away from home is hard enough but seeing the conditions & future treatment they would have received, if left there. Was a blessing in disguise. We took my grandmother after being released from the hospital (she had a stroke) & needed 24hr care & rehab to gain her mobility back. They sent a van to pick her up from the hospital the person who picked her up appeared professional, dont be deceived & expect everyone to behave the same way. Once we arrived at the facility, it was hot, dirty & the check in process was rushed. There was no information on schedule or questions about my grandmothers condition, treatment let alone the certainty that your loved one will be in good hands. We signed all the paperwork & were left unattended in the room for a good 45mins. My grandma needed to use the bathroom so she pulled the red cord/string for assistance, we timed it and took 23mins to receive a reply, the reply was addressed to me as opposed to my grandma, the reply was disappointing, Did you need anything? My reply not anymore, I helped my grandma to the bathroom, the reply back was, good-sorry we are switching shifts so its busy . I assisted my grandma so she was okay but what if I wasnt there....23mins to get assistance & on blood thinners could have been a disaster if she fell. In the interim, her dinner was delivered and simply left on a dirty TV tray, the individual who delivered was asked if they could confirm the red cord is working & the reply was, yes but we are busy right now. Someone will come when available. The dinner included black coffee instead of water, for dinner...! We immediately took my grandma home with us, this was the worst experience and dont wish this on anyone. This place should be closed!

Needs to address their constant being under staffed on every shift. Usually only one licensed nurse per shift working with a few resident care staff members who are expected by management to give timely individual care and assistance to 40 residents. The Manors lack to keep a full working staff. Of on duty employees causes viable stress to staff this stress is then seen in their interactions with residents.

If I could give this Nursing Home negative stars I would. I worked for this company for awhile and it was the worst experience of my life! They need to find someone else to run the Nursing Home. MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE. They will cuss you out, leave you on the floor with 1 CNA and 50 residents to take care of. Don't let the sign on bonus fool you RUN while you can!!!

I worked here for quite some time as a dietary aide, but I wanted to be a CNA. Some of the CNA's at this facility disgust me. I've never seen such cruel behavior towards an elderly in my life. After my experience here, my passion to be a CNA faded away watching this behavior day after day. Needless to say, I won't be working there again.
