Oak View Retirement Community at Buchanan County Health Center

Oak View is the most fantastic community for senior living. We moved my mom, age 90 at the end of January 2019 to Oak View. The apartments are comfortable and very adequate. All appliances (including a washer/dryer) are new and included with every unit. Of course, it does come with a cost, but compared to other facilities, this place is a bargain! This two story 24 unit building is a quiet and safe place for mom. She has mobility issues that are fully met here. It is a good investment. Continental breakfast in the community room is available daily and you can have a family gathering when all the grandkids come to visit.Because mom can't drive anymore, Oak View will take her to her business needs, appointments and shopping upon request. We couldn't ask for more! Of course, mom misses her old 5 bedroom house on an acre lot, but the truth is, this place will extend her life with her daily access to the gym and exercise classes. She can walk to the gym and her family doctor within the facility or outside if she chooses. And she even has a little raised garden, three tomato plants and a few other things! If you are a friendly, outgoing senior, you will be a happy camper! By the way, my mom helped me to write this!

Horrible place. They treat their residents with no respect. Regret the day we moved my parents in . The nursing home is hell. Didn't give my Mom any dignity, even in dying. A horrible thing for her and for her family to have to live with the rest of our lives. If anyone is thinking of moving their loved one there-think twice, talk to the residents who have lived there for a few years.
