Rehab is very good. Very nice facility. Food could be better.

I moved my mother here in February of 2019 and by June I moved her to Southfield Village. Sprenger is a beautiful facility, and they have a very caring staff. They seem to be very short handed. Most are doing multiple jobs, and not even related to what their title is. And I assume because of that things just don't get done or done right. Mom had many missed showers, medications weren't close to on time. Just tons of small issues. The organization of Southfield is night and day better in every respect.

I had an wonderful experience at Sprenger. I was in Memorial Hospital for a major surgery and it was my first time for a major surgery so I didn't know what to expect when the hospital told me I was going to Sprenger. I was made to feel right at home, the nurses were attentive, and the PT people are amazing . They helped me to feel like I was going to walk and sometimes I did wonder but I did! I also had a pic line that required much care and I was always taken care of! When I left Sprenger after 2 months I still had some recovery time at home, I had such a strong feeling of paying it forward that now I'm actually working here!

Nice atmosphere, it feels very comfortable. The food was average to a step up. Most of the staff is friendly, but there are definitely a few bad apples, mainly on third shift. I experienced some employee banter which you should not have to ever experience in a professional environment. If your loved one is on insulin please do not let them be cared for here. My Moms blood sugar was constantly high. They put her on a sliding scale and they could not handle it. I felt helpless as my mom laid there with high blood sugar (300-500 +) I would check it myself, and try to get her a shot and I got excuses such as 'I'm not in charge' 'I'm the only one here ' to 'I'm sorry we dont have any insulin for your mom tonight, maybe we will have some in the morning, but I'm not sure.I asked for a print out of her blood sugar records and never received it. I am finally relieved as she is going back home where I can monitor it myself. This is what I call neglect, I know there are staff issues everywhere. But I still must call it neglect....
