My family has a relative that has been here since close to when they opened. Up until this holiday we have been very happy with everything and all the wonderful staff. Shortly after Christmas some Christmas cards and gift cards that were left for various family members that had not made it yet were taken out of the privacy of my grandmas locked room. We reported this to the director and all we got back was a small email saying they will look into it. Then once again, my family member was at lunch or dinner and someone with a room key went through her drawers and opened an envelope with a check. Once they realized, they poorly tried to close it and that's how we can tell. This place has lost our trust and still hasnt acknowledged it that they have thieves working there.

As a nurse my experience as an employee was a very unpleasant one. I was hired by Debra the admin. She was very professional and compassionate. The nurse training me bragged to others that she'd make sure I quit, throwing me onto floor without oriention.Debra gave me another chance at orientation with different nurse. I have often worked short staffed and often ended up as only nurse for 2 units. The CNAs from days were very dismissive when I would ask them to answer call lights. They would often congregate in main dining room cutting up looking at their phone, texting etc.A new admin Tina just started and was not very freindly to me. With prior admin she took great care in making sure monthly calenders of my schedule were available. With new admin you had to flip through dozens of daily assignments take picture of each one. I thought I was off work and received message that I was scheduled. Tina was very vindictive twards me and I received a text that stated.' We have moved forward with your termination of ENJOYMENT'. WOW. Termination of enjoyment. She did not allow me to speak and give explaination.I will say that the residents are wonderful and I will miss them. So if your a nurse be ready for alot of attitudes from CNA staff and know that they along with certain people in admin are very clickish. You will have to work short staffed often. And at times you'll have to take 2 separate units.

My Mom was a Resident at Bickford for nearly 2 1/2 years. I cant say enough good things about Bickford. My mom was not always the easiest to get along with but they did win her heart and they truly helped her have a purposeful and more joyful life to the best of her ability. There were staff changes throughout her time there but there was never a lack in her care. They are all truly special people and can take great care of your loved ones. I miss their smiling faces. Special thanks to Briana who treated her like family and Kim for her upbeat personality. All the nurses were great!
