Find another facility if you have a family member that will have to stay short term (rehab) or long term. It is hit or miss with the staff. Facility managers will tell you great things to get your loved one in the door. Once they are in the only people you can get in touch with is the financial manager and that is so they can get paid. During a conference call with several staff in attendance, we received different answers on simple questions. It seems one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

My 88 year-old mother-in-law was very reluctant to leave her home of 40 years but within a month, she was comfortable and within two months, I don't think you could possibly get her to leave. The staff at the Point is excellent in every way and have done everything from helping her settle her cat in to making her feel welcome in every way. Make no mistake, this is a top notch facility -- the building, the staff, and my goodness, the food is over the top. Just like a fine restaurant, they have menu choices, tablecloths, napkins, and soft music everyday for lunch. This is an opportunity that I which my mother had in Missouri. Evansville is very lucky to have Solarbron.

Severely understaffed. My mother got sepsis in their care from a surgery wound. The staff kept lying to us and saying that she was in good health and progressing in rehab. We finally got the truth when it was all too late and my mother was rushed to the hospital on our demand. If you want somewhere that has the time and ability to care for your loved one, Solarbron is not the place. I hope to make this so that no one else has to go through what we have. The pain of losing a mother is the worst feeling in this entire world. Especially when she still had life to live. There is no replacement. I would say that if someone needs long term care or long term rehab, this is not the place!

Cassie: She is probably the most efficient aide. She always has a smile and likes to joke with my husband. I wish that she was on the east unit always.
