If I could give zero stars I would. We have been having problems with this place since last year when my grandad (who was also a resident) was still alive. However, today has to be the icing on the cake. On March 2 of this year, my Uncle passed and my granny had been staying with my aunt (her sister) to help her with funeral arrangement and to consul her in this time of grief, as she just lost her husband of 54 years less than a year ago. So she knows how it is to be in morning and was trying to be there for her loved ones. Well, on March 12 when my grandmother returned to Elevate after my Uncles funeral she was told that she would not be able to stay there because she was one of the residents who come and go as they please (due to her being on dialysis and wanting to spend time with family) and that the home was going on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We understood, as we understand the impact that this pandemic has been having on the older demographic. However, my grandmother was told that she would be credited for the time that she was away from the home. Yesterday, my mom receives email confirmation that my grannys account has been charged the full price of rent for the month of April. My mom emails to inquire as to why she was charged and what is going on with any credits that my granny should be receiving due to COVID-19. Teneisha Patterson, the community administrator, responds to my mom stating that They never asked my grandmother to leave and that this was done on her own accord because she wanted to be with family and that unfortunately at this time returning to the home is NOT an option due to the pandemic. She has inquired about residents who wanted to stay with their loved ones during the pandemic and that there was a possibility for credits. My mom responded to let her know that she understood that my granny was unable to return in light of the pandemic but expressed her concerns about it being unfair for my grandmother being charged full price for a facility that she has not and will not be able to use. My mom asked Ms. Patterson to please stop taking the money out of my grannys account and that any payments would be delivered to them via check until we can get this whole situation rectified. Ms. Patterson responded saying that my grannys last day holding the apartment would be May 1. No where in my moms previous correspondence did she say that she wanted my grandmother to move out of the community, she simply inquired about her being charged for a service and facility that she is unable to use. After going back and forth, Ms. Patterson finally states that my granny wasnt told that she would be credited for the time that she was not able to occupy her apartment. Clearly in her earlier correspondence, Ms. Patterson said there was a possibility for residents to be credited. Regardless, it is not right to continue to take money from some when you have clearly stated that her returning to the community was not an option due to the pandemic. So why continue to charge her as long as she is dislocated during the pandemic? Why not offer some sort of compensation? Instead, you threaten to kick an old lady out of a place that she pays her hard earned money in which to stay. Change the name all you want but the lackluster service and lack of professionalism is still very prevalent with this community. Holland Home for the Retired/Elevate Senior Living likes to prey on the elderly and their families, continues to have non-transparent business practices and like to con people out of their money. Beware before sending your loved ones here!

I am really pleased with the Elevate Senior living. My mom enjoys being a part of a senior community. We visit regularly and have noticed that they have a very caring staff. This is an excellent place that provides a peace of mind. My mom receives her meals and snacks. She loves it and so do I. Deneen

I moved here in April 2019 and began to go to my church that incorporates this location and met a wonderful man there. We began to date and a few months later with another resident as witness he asked me to marry him. I am a 55 year old woman who had never met someone to marry and to finally meet someone was wonderful. If I had not come here I would never have met him. I have loved my time here. I have met wonderful people, employees, residents, visitors. who have given me things to do, to talk with, and just enjoy the company of. I have lived alone most of my life and to live in a place where I can socialize and be around others has been wonderful. I have lost all of my closest family members and I now have great people surrounding me and have met my husband, whom I married in December 2019. This is a great place for the lonely and disenfranchised. I will come back to visit all of the wonderful people.
