This is the first and probably only google review I will ever post. For the main reason that it is so important to me to express my appreciation for the staff and management of this facility for the care they give to their guests and especially residents. This NOT an easy job. There is a reason we cannot quit our own jobs and give this care to our loved ones. And this staff choses it everyday. This residential center is clean and active and more than I could ever have imagined. I sincerely thank you for the care you have provided for my Grandfather. And the amazing work you do for our family members you care for everyday.

A big thank you and much appreciation to the staff at The Sheridan at Tyler Creek for the many ways you care and provide assistance for our loved ones. I am regularly reminded on how difficult their jobs are to care for the residents in various ways, even when my parents are not able to communicate or appreciate the care given. My parents have been residents at the Sheridan for over a year now. In that time, there has been turn over of staff. I have been saddened to see many friendly faces go, but welcome the new ones and to help with any transitional ways for them as well as my parents.I can't say enough how very thankful I am for the purposeful commitment the staff have taken to see that my parents are able to enjoy one another often even though they are in separate apartments.

This community used to be welcoming and five stars all across the board. Unfortunately it would be too generous to give even one star. The new management who have all transferred from bought out company has turned it into business rather than a home. They are concerned about budget rather then the needs of the residents and staff members. The ED walks around unapproachable and will give you the famous line of Ill look into that for you without keeping her word. All complaints are swept under the rug and makes the community picture perfect for corporate. The memory care director has little to no experience and can be see walking the halls on her cell phone while putting her work on her CNAs. Dining services has reached its low point and the food is barely edible. Housekeeping has had a huge turn around rate and my loved ones room is cleaned every other week if we are lucky. When this should be scheduled every week on a specific day. Maintenance request can take days to weeks with several reminders before it gets completed. With the amount of money paid each month with multiple increases over the years the service we receive is horrible and they are always short staffed with the use of agency. The only original direct was of sales and marketing who let go due to personal reasons of the new management. The only approachable and genuine person this community has left. I would not recommend this community for the safety of your loved ones.Update 11-2-19A few weeks ago I wrote an honest review about this community hoping thing would have improved. Well Im here to say they have not and in all honest things have gotten worse. From my own personal views and from conversations from other family members. There are no activities going on in the community that are appropriate for these residents. Especially if you go up and visit the memory care unit. The residents are either sitting at the tables staring at magazines, sitting in a circle sleeping, or sitting in front of a TV. How is this stimulating the residents. When you go to talk to the Memory care director she is either not around or is too busy walking up and down the halls on her phone. When you do finally talk to her she just looks lost. My question is why arent you doing activities with the residents. She is suppose to have all this experience working with residents with memory loss but yet I never see her doing anything. Also the turn over rate in this community is laughable between CNAs and Management. One minute someone is here the next they are gone. Rather they leave because they feel like they are overworked and under appreciated or they are fired. I would love for someone in the corporate office to look at the turn over rate since the beginning of the year. There have been several people that have been fired that should not have been. Terrence being one. He was so wonderful with the residents. He kept them active and engaged. There were amazing programs that were ran with the residents such as songs by heart, Zumba, musicians, and the library that were all stopped due to budget. When asked it was because of budget. I pay close to 7 thousand for my loved one to live here. I dont want to hear about budget. My hopes in writing this update is so that someone in the corporate office at Senior lifestyle will read this and ask the question. What the heck is going on? This building needs a fresh group of managers such as a memory care director who knows whats shes doing and has experience. An Executive director that actually takes the time to listen and talks to family members. A housekeeping director that is actually making sure the community and residents rooms look presentable. A dining director that isnt always so worried about budget and will get good quality food in the community. An activity director that will have more engaging programs for the residents. At this rate with all the new communities opening up in the area you will be out of business.

My loved one is experiencing issues due to dementia and rather than express concern for her, the Interim Executive Director took a very demeaning and condescending attitude about it and accused her of being a lazy slob. So have some of the residents. Did it ever occur to him she needs more care? It wasn't even suggested. I am also concerned about her privacy being breached concerning this matter. I feel this is not only deplorable. but inexcusable. The Executive Director. of all people ought to know better, even if he is an interim. The office manager has also given me problems. She was down right NASTY to me over the phone last year and she actually got in my face telling me she didn't believe me about something somebody said. The care however is excellent.
