The Solana Deer Park

This is my first Google review, but i wanted to share my experience to encourage others to do a deep dive of retirement facilities before placing their loved ones in places like this. Please do not judge this book (or any facility) by it's cover, it is pretty, it is clean and the staff is nice and very attentive while you are shopping. However the care of the assisted living facility, the senior team and the corporate office is there for one reason, MONEY. We moved our mother out after her SECOND fall at Solana which resulted in a second broken bone.The Director of the Assisted Living area ( who to this day I have not met, nor have we had a care plan review with, even after several requests) is new to this facility and does not know what she is doing. It took her over a week to return my calls after my mom broke her arm and was sent to the ER, in fact it took me 3 calls to her, 2 calls to her regional VP and 2 calls to the corporate office and a week later, to finally speak to her regarding the best plan of care for my mom after her fall. Of course by this time it was too late. During this time however, she did have the time to speak to the hospital and rudely tell the hospital that she did not want my mother to return because she was too difficult to handle. She also told my mother's LTC policy that she moved out, but Solana then proceeded to charge us another 5 weeks of care. I see many people complaining about the food at this facility, I wish that the only issue was the food, but the dining is the highlight of this facility. The care provided to the residents and the customer service provided to the loved ones of the residents is far far worse and I highly recommend looking past the cover of this book. I am still waiting for a return call from corporate as I write this review.

Please take care in choosing a new home for your loved ones. The best people to talk to ARE THE RESIDENTS, not the people being paid to sell you a pretty building.

I recently worked for this location... Honestly I felt betrayed by management.. I shared that one of the supervisors offered me money to marry her brother for citizenship and it was taken as a joke! I have emails and text messages to prove exactly what took place! After having a argument with that specific supervisor I was fired! Currently she stills works there! I was not treated fairly! I also got accused of job Abandonment after receiving permission from my supervisor to leave the area to do laundry in other areas of the building.. When it was brought to the attention of the Executive Directors it was ignored that my supervisor had given me permission to do so.. Overall there are some staff that really care and others are there just to collect a CHECK!
