Prior to being employed here, both of my grandparents resided at Pleasant Meadows and I got to experience first hand how wonderful of a facility it is. They took great care of my family members and this is why I am PROUD to now be employed at Pleasant Meadows and be a part of this caring environment. Everyone is treated like family at Pleasant Meadows and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a short or long term stay.

Don't send your family member to this place if you care about them! First of all, there is NO Assisted Living area. Only Independent and Skilled Nursing. Second, the food is so terrible, that if the residents don't have their own food storage, they'll suffer from nurtrition deprivation! The Chicago-based administration makes a lot of noise, but that's all. The State of Illinois inspections count for nothing. Shame on you!

Very disappointing to find your family member having slept on a broken bed for two months afraid to say anything. Told to urinate and deficate themselves when willing and able to use the facilities. Family member's clothes were stolen multiple times and staff stole cigarettes and lighters. Meals werent positive, barely enough to eat and unappetizing.

While visiting I was thankful for the kind staff. I know they go unthank, underpaid, and unappreciated more often than not. I was glad to see they took time to do simple things like games, crafts, and Bible study with the residents. I do wish the facilities were larger, but that is no fault of the staff.
