After only 2 months, I felt the need to rate this facility. This is my 2nd experience with an assisted living facility. My first experience was over 4 years ago. And now 4 years later, we had to cross a bridge to get my love one some assistance. Many of the care managers here are over worked and are burnt out. I recommend making several visits at all hours of the day to ensure you're happy with the facility. If your heavily involved (as I am) and are one who expects to get what you pay for, believe me when I say this ... you will find yourself repeating over and over and anxiously awaiting a formal response. You will more than likely need to send 2nd, 3rd requests as promises will be made but lack of internal communication across staff and all shifts takes much longer than should and this will certainly get frustrating. The entry into the dining area has been under construction for over a month now. It has remained in its current stage for over 3 weeks. Certainly someone needs to put some heat on the contractor or insurance company. Nevertheless, many of my concerns I addressed during the initial sales pitch, have happened ~ we were told, 'that's not the business we are in'. I suggest, you do lots of research and visit facilities frequently before making your final decision. At this time, my rating is 2-1/2 to 3 stars. A 4 star is good and 5 stars in this industry, it is going to take more efforts to get 5 stars here at Sunrise. LOTS of room for improvement at Sunrise of Bloomingdale. On average, I am at the facility, approximately 30 hours per week so I see a lot. Best of luck in your search ~
