While the main building LOOKS decent from the outside, memory care is simply horrifying. The rooms are tiny and totally depressing. And contrary to the facility's response below, we were specifically told that the room HAD been cleaned prior to our arrival. Now finding out that that wasn't actually the case is just another reason I would not leave a loved on here. Prior to the day we arrived, another family member had toured the shared room that was available and planned on at the time. He was appalled and said the room reeked of urine, that the shared bathroom just had a slid doors in between, and that there was zero privacy. Plans were changed to wait for what MorningStar referred to as the 'better suite.' That was the room we saw when we arrived and I was absolutely mortified the moment I saw it. It was awful, and all four of my family members had the exact same reaction. Even the hallways of memory care here are more like a hospital unit or warehouse than a place to care for loved human beings in need. Furthermore, the day we arrived was traumatic enough, but literally as we were driving out to MorningStar with boxes of personal belongings, admin was calling with last-minute changes to already agreed upon arrangements. And, yes, the changes were due to COVID, but the virus was already an issue when the arrangements were agreed upon less than 24 hours before we arrived. Ultimately, the entire experience was so negative that we ended up choosing not to leave our loved one here. I've since toured a number of memory care facilities and most of them have been much nicer than MorningStar memory care and also had more 'homey' atmospheres full of incredibly helpful and caring people. That was not at all our experience with MorningStar's memory care and I would personally never leave anyone I cared about here.

We could not have asked for better care for our mother during her time in the memory care unit at Morningstar. The staff was so kind to all of us and they all went beyond our expectations. The facility was always clean and welcoming. The many activities offered were excellent. We would highly recommend this senior living facility.

The care given to my mother-in-law was very good overall. She lived there for nine months before going to her permanent home of heaven, with her best friend and Savior, Jesus. The only complaint I have is that at times it seemed like she didnt get care when she needed it; and I believe that was due to the lack of enough help. But, for the most part, the staff showed compassion and loved her. Nicole was great. Barbara truly cared. Mom loved attending the Bible studies. Hospice did a fantastic job. The chaplain Danny was very nice. The other thing I liked about MorningStar-it smelled clean! I recommend this facility and believe the staff tries very hard to love, serve, and give to the residents. Mom appreciated all she received. Love you mommacita!

My mother has been at Resident of Morningstar Reflections Unit for a little over a year and a half. The Caregivers and Staff have been wonderful. Myself, and my family members feel they are so kind and caring. I love watching the patience and love they have towards not only my mom but also the other residents. There has been times when mom was upset or she scared, or she doesnt know where shes at, they stay with her, comfort her. When I or one of family members cannot be there, its a comfort knowing mom is safe. Thank you Morningstar, thank you from me and my family!
