I love this community and miss it so much! The residents are so amazing and the staff always has smiling faces!

Staff is fine. Food is quite good. However, the management there is unethical and abusive. Specifically the Director name TAMBRA is a huge problem. Long story short, they assessed my mother to be a good candidate for independent living. So, we reserved a spot. Two months later, mom's unit became available and we moved her in. The 2nd day she was there, I get repeated calls at work that mom is doing and isn't a good candidate for independent living. I informed them that Melanie (Northstar) staff assessed my mother as independent living instead of assisted living (as all those units) were full. Mom been there 23 days and they served her a 30 day eviction notice to a 77 year old woman with dementia - despite the fact that Northstar miss assessed her. UNREAL! DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE !!!

North Star is wonderful at making you feel welcome and part of the family. Staff is eager to help. My mom was not happy about leaving her long time family home, but Melanie, Megan, Kayla and Alex have all been patient and kind in helping her transition. All who have visited Mom have been impressed with the food, dining room, grounds, facilities and activities. Mom appreciates Skylar's attentive service in the dining room and how he knows her name. Maintenance personal were helpful when Mom was moving in and have made sure to introduce themselves. Housekeeping has been understanding, kind and flexible. One night Mom realized she had left her purse in the car and didn't feel comfortable going out in the dark to retrieve it. I was able to make a call and Alex offered to get it for her. That is an example of what gives us peace of mind that Mom is in a great community that cares and is eager to solve problems when we can't be there.
