Garden Plaza at Lawrenceville

A family member resides here, and it is lovely. Beautiful. Clean, wonderful menus, nice staff. Great housekeeping. Interior courtyards are a nice focal point. Dining room staff attentive.

I have family that lives here. The place is immaculate and beautiful. Most of the staff is very friendly. The place works hard to reach out to the outside community. They go out of their way to hold events that include family members, such as the recent Halloween/Fall festival and today's Thanksgiving brunch. Several staff members approached us and made us feel very welcome today. I can tell they work very hard! However, there's room for improvement, especially for the price they pay. This place isn't cheap. My criticisms are 1) Don't run out of food. Have enough burgers, ketchup, basic staples, etc. My family says this happens often and the cost is too expensive to keep running out of food; 2) Don't curse at work if you're an employee there. I overheard an employee there say something inappropriate. Fortunately my family addressed it with the staff and it was handled and addressed very well. Overall, I'm grateful my family is treated well and taken care of there. It gives me great peace of mind.

Volunteered at Garden Plaza for 7 months /6-8 hours per week. While not expecting anything for my time, it was only appreciated by a few people (excluding residents) and upper management did not ever acknowledge. Spent over 18 hours end of November decorating interior building at no charge for Christmas due to lack of staff... Loss of 8 Dining Service Directors in 2 years speaks volumes....no management involvement in fixing the problems...expect one person to fix everything with no upper management support. Maintenance is a joke...hope nothing breaks as it won't get fixed quickly and an aging building and grounds is soon to show it. If Executive and Upper Management took the same attitude as the Front Desk Personnel and Marketing Person still employed as of this posting than better things might happen....only shining star areas of employees. Not where I would choose to place a loved one and feel safe every night.

Like a cruise ship. Outstanding service, carefree living, good food, many amenities. Worth a visit.
