The landings of Gainesville is the worst place to work! Food budget is terrible! Half the time the kitchen staff has to buy from their pockets and never get paid back for it! There is a stack of receipts that the kitchen staff has from buying food out of their pockets! This also goes for the activities director, they have also had to buy things from there own pockets! The landings should NOT be called an assisted living! It is a nursing home, especially on the memory care side! MULTIPLE residents cannot walk nor help when taking them to the restroom! The staff is not educated enough as well! A 5 hour proxy class cannot educate a staff member properly ! There is a lot of unprofessional staff members of management as well! The executive director (Amanda Strickland) once laughed at one of the residents for walking out of the bathroom when they had toilet paper stuck to there pants, instead of helping the resident. The executive director will also let you get away with a lot of things if you are one of her favorites, for example the 1st shift supervisor once did not do her ADLs, and documented on the computer that she had taken a resident a shower (this has happened multiple times). There is SO much more things I could say about this place, but the number one thing is that the landings is NOT A HOME FOR YOUR FATHER OR MOTHER!

My grandmother has been a resident for about a year now. Great staff and living space. She's been very vocal with how much she enjoys the activities and food. They have a family Thanksgiving and family Christmas. They make an effort to engage the family of residents as much as possible.

My Dad stayed there in 2016 and they absolutely do treat you like family. The staff actually cried when he left but then again you couldn't help falling in love with him! I would recommend this facility if you want your loved ones truly taken care of!

I have worked for Manor House as the Activity Director for four years. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, I would love to meet you and schedule a tour. We love our residents and care for them like family. Come by and say 'hello'!
