My Mom was at the Palms for almost a year before passing away on 4/22/2020. She went to Rehab from the hospital first. The Physical Therapists were very sweet with her. From Rehab she went to assisted living with two more hospital stays. She then went to long term care with Hospice. I had a difficult time getting answers while she was there. More often than not I didn't get a call back. Mom had a cell phone but was too I'll to use it, so I couldn't see or talk to her for 6 weeks before she died. Finally, I got a call from Hospice, that they were moving her to their unit so I could spend time with her. She couldn't acknowledge that I was there.I don't know what could have been done differently, but I know that we lost 6 weeks of her life. One of her hearing aids was lost twice. It was supposedly found once. No call back about that. One last thing, I would think the facility would call or send condolences when a resident died. Nope! But Hospice has been very caring. The Nurses on the Hospice unit Rashida, SS, and David, their Chaplain. All are awesome caregivers. They have called several times.Thank you and God bless you VITAS

Most of the staff is caring and and understanding. But the 2% from LPNs to CNAs should go back to school to learn compassion. Also theres nothing to keep your love one moble....it seems its designed to keep the seniors in wheelchairs... but I am working on that.

The worst place to take your love ones. Food is terrible. Some but not all the nurses do not care. It only takes one bad apple to ruin everything. Medicare rates them 2 out 5 stars. Look elsewhere there are better homes in Highlands county.
