Navarre Gardens

Staff are not attentive to the family or residents, especially the evening shift. Walked in tonight with vitamins for my Mom, talked to the tall black girl at the desk to give them to her and she walked away from me and started talking to another staff member. I then felt very ignored and left the desk with the vitamins and went to my Mom's room. The day shift seem responsive but the evening shift has been less than responsive. One evening I came in to find my 89 year old Mom looking at her commode which was stopped up and needed to be plunged. She said pulled her call button and the girl responding said she would go get one. When I saw the problem, I went to find the staff which were all in the back hall chatting, including the Med Tech with the medicine cart. I asked if they were able to locate a plunger for my Mom and they replied they couldn't find one. But no one returned to her room to tell her that. I left them in the hall and walked directly down the corridor and saw the housekeeping cart through the glass door to the Beauty Salon. I went in, found 2 plungers on the side of the cart, took one to my Mom's room and plunged her commode. I then returned it to the cart and since they were still all at the end of the corridor, I told them I found two plungers on the housekeeping cart. They showed no concern. That infuriated me.With the amount of money we are paying monthly, this is not the service I expect! I have asked about security at this facility and have been told they plan to install it at the front door. Mom's been there for 3 months and they have yet to install any security at the front door. This is a safety concern for the residents & families, as the residents would be helpless if anyone came into the facility to do them harm. This security issue needs immediate resolution and should have been installed upon building the facility. I would like to speak to the owners of this facility as the Administrator has not taken care of this important safety concern. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Went to check based on ratings seen here. What a disappointment. No grounds nothing. A parking lot. Walked in, no one at deal. Signed in waited. Waited. Residents sitting in lobby. No security we could have been anyone. Waited some more. No one greeted us. Big NO FOR OUR FAMILY.

Mother has been residing here for approximately 7 months. Extremely pleased with facility and especially the staff. They genuinely care about the residents and their overall well being. They are kind and compassionate like no other facility. Very happy with our choice, and very comfortable with the extremely competent staff.
