Stay away! Our experience with this so called assisted living was a nightmare! Our mother was here , we came to see her on a regular basis. The staff couldnt tell me when she had a shower , or how often she had one. I made a permanent marker on her and applied a band aide and stayed away to see if someone would have showered her. Came back still there. She had memory issues. The staff would yell at her because she used the wrong utensil. I showed up she had a black eye no one bothered to call and tell me. She had plenty of utis. She wasnt checked on a regular basis, or changed. When they gave her medication we found a lot of it in her room on the floor, behind her bed, dresser. I asked the nurse why when they give her meds that they stand and watch and have her stick her tongue out to make sure she swallowed. The list goes on! When your loved one sleeps a lot dont count on the staff to do a head count for any of the meals. If they are not there no one gets them up. If you complain it only makes it worse on your loved one. Also its up to the facility when they feel your loved one needs more care you dont have a choice. You pay someone on top of what you are already paying or you move them to another floor and pay more and have less care. We moved her to another facility and it wasnt much better. We learned through this walk that memory care is a joke in Naples Florida! There needs to be tougher laws in memory care! This memory care is about greed. They miss the mark on care!
